Hello everyone back home!! Today was day 2 for us at El Manantial and it was truly a day full of nothing but pure love and happiness. I had the chance to love on the precious angels today, in a classroom of 2-3 year olds. Going into today I was a little nervous knowing that they did not speak any english, but my nerves were calmed in an instant when three little chicas came running to me with open arms. We twirled and giggled and most of all we loved. God truly does shine in the darkest places. These children are such bright lights of God that you can’t possibly be able to miss. Today they taught me that there is no language barrier, love doesn’t need to be spoken, it is shown through hugs and laughs and kisses. I cannot be more thankful for the ways that God is forming relationships and showing me the love of Jesus through these little ones. Pura Vida!!
El Quince de Septiembre:
Day 2 started just like the first, with screams of pure joy from the children of El Quince. Today was truly amazing because you could see relationships forming already and we met just yesterday. Finger painting and dancing was what our day consisted of and of course teaching the word of God. The thing that truly amazes me with these kids is that they are so willing to learn whether it comes to how jesus died on the cross or a simple english word to make us feel comfortable. They are what make this trip what it is and this is what Costa Rica is all about. We are only two days in and i can already tell this will be one of the best weeks of my life! 🙂
Laughing, crashing, playing, that is how I would describe this day. Finca was filled with such joy today as I continued to run around the center’s courtyard as the kids were thinking I was Batman. Soccer balls were flying with such force and the indescribable feeling of joy just radiated from all of these kids who were just happy being kids. Every time I thought the energy of the kids would die down it would then explode out of nowhere, constantly reminding me of the pure joy these kids have.
