BEST FINCAN DAY EVER!!!!!
Having spent one day at Finca San Juan, we thought that we understood what each day this week would look like. Within only hours at the center, God blew us away. To start off the day, our team continued the maintenance that we had begun the day before. This consisted of touching up the layer of paint we had done on the walls and doors and dusting the entire hall. While we painted, kids would continue to make conversations with us and even say “pintar” which means “to paint” in English because they wanted to help paint even though they had a day of school ahead of them. It’s incredible to see the caring hearts these children have and the love they have formed for us even though they have only known us for one short day. They love showing affection by hugging, kissing cheeks, and always wanting to hold hands.
Not only that, but while painting our team was able to hold one on one conversations with each other; this helped us grow closer to not only the kids but individual people from our team. It is mind blowing what God has been cultivating on this trip even in small ways. Everyone has a story from the center with a foundation of love, but each story is unique in its own way, which we find pretty special! As a team, we have not only had our own experiences, but have been able to listen to the stories of others. With this in mind, we know that the week ahead can only get better.

Waking up early in the morning isn’t half as bad when you know you are about to go to one of the happiest places on Earth. Just thinking about the smiling, sweet faces you would soon see, made the bus ride seem like a million years. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with open arms, and bright smiles. Going into a situation like this, you never really know what there is to come, but God truly never fails to amaze you. Every child was glowing with happiness, and joy. God was not only in our hearts to show to these Costa cuties, but He was in theirs to show us the same. We started off with maintenance but we were soon interrupted by the sweet kiddos tugging on our arms to come join them in fun, and games. The love that these kids have in their hearts is incredibly inspiring, and makes you truly take a step back and thank The Lord for placing you in such a beautiful and loving environment. It also is heart-warming that you get to share these moments with your new best friends! When the kids realize you are leaving all they talk about is “manana” which means tomorrow, it leaves you with an unexplainable excitement to come back the next day.
