Happy thoughts going into the plane. That was followed by crazy stories and conversations on the plane. Some people took a nap and some watched the variety of movies provided on our ride. Our flight was three hours and thirty six minutes (if you want exact numbers), which calls for a perfect flight!
Once we landed, customs took a while, but singing “happy birthday” to Lee (he’s now 24) made it that much worthwhile. Once our bus’s came we drove to our hotel. We went straight to lunch and the Open House (partner church) staff welcomed us in with open arms. They showed us a brief presentation over the centers we will be visiting. After, they gave us down time and told us to be at the lobby at 5:45 for Inside Out.
This was Open House’s FIRST inside out for their high school students. We started out by interacting with the students/ leaders, followed by a time of worship and a lesson (Judgement Call). It was incredible seeing how a language barrier did not have any affect on a persons’ faith! One song that hit my heart was “You Alone.” Hearing the Costa Rican students worshiping in Spanish while we worshiped in English, was truly eye opening. After the stellar worship, we dove into a talk about judging others. Yes, it may have been in Spanish, but once again, it changed my view on other countries faiths with Jesus Christ!
Coming back from Inside Out, we listened to Brooke Lewis share her testimony on the roof of the hotel (astonishing view lemme just tell ya). Followed by small group time and One-on-ones. We are all fitting in here quite well, living the dream through Christ one step at a time!
We love you all and can’t wait to see what God has planned for us this week!!!
